At The Donnie Baumann Foundation, we are committed to breaking the stigma surrounding substance use and supporting those on the path to recovery. Our mission is simple but vital: to fund second chances, offer resources, and bring communities together in the fight against addiction.

Substance abuse is not a moral failure — it is a complex mental health issue. People don’t choose addiction lightly or in isolation. It can happen to anyone, even those you’d least expect. Donnie Baumann was a devoted family man, a successful real estate developer, an athlete, and a loyal friend. He loved his city of Miami, spent his days running, boating, and cheering on his favorite teams. He was the kind of person everyone admired — and yet, like so many others, he struggled silently.

Our foundation exists to challenge the judgment and shame that too often surround this issue. We believe in compassion over condemnation. We encourage families to embrace their loved ones, to show grace instead of turning away, and to offer real help and hope. Tough love may close doors, but kindness and support can open them.
